Mezunu olduğum ITU Maçka İşletme Fakültesi, 31 Ocak 2009 tarihinde çok önemli olduğunu düşündüğüm bir organizasyona evsahipliği yapacak. İşletme Mühendisliği Kulübünün katkılarıyla gerçekleştirilecek olan “etohum haftasonu” bu sene ilki düzenlenen etohum’da ilk aşamada seçilen 15 internet girişimcisi açıklanıyor olacak. Yine bu bölümden mezun olan Burak Büyükdemir’in başlattığı ve sektörden hemen hemen herkesin büyük destek verdiği ve sahiplendiği bu organizasyonun bu aşamaya gelmesi heyecan verici. Eğer bu sektörde iş yapıyorsanız ya da yapmayı planlıyorsanız mutlaka katılmanızı öneririm.

2009 is very close! 2008 was probably the most interesting year for me and on the overall,  it was a pretty good one I was living in another city, working for another company, hanging out with different people last December! Although they were and still are all great, I believe  changes usually add a lot to me as long as I can keep myself  open for new ones.  See how stupid I look when I was 4, ignoring  the fact that  ”Santa” was my teacher and the present was bought by parents  Happy New Year!

AdWords advertisers now have a campaign-level option which will enable them to target  iPhone, T-Mobile G1, and other mobile devices with full (HTML) Internet browsers. They can choose their desktop text and image ads to show only on those mobile devices , only on desktop/laptops or both. I believe that will bring a great flexibility to advertisers who want to target mobile audience and do not have a mobile landing page yet.  Check Alexandra’s video below to learn more about that new option:

My colleague Denis, who’s still studying in BOUN has shared a brief presentation for his Master’s Thesis Proposal on SlideShare.  

His hypotheses are :

H1: More trustable sites have better chance of being evaluated for a transaction.
H2: Credibility of a site increases its odds of being used for a transaction.
H3: Websites with high usability have bigger potential customer base.
H4: Branded websites are more trustable and credible.

If you haven’t tried Google Mobile App yet, you’re missing a lot  

Yes after Rhodes, I’m in Greece again and can not believe I haven’t been here before. I stayed with Eugene, a friend from my exchange study in Norway and he had shown great hospitality. First we visited the Acropolis of Athens which was erected in 6th century BC. There is no doubt on its very well-deserved European Cultural Heritage status given in 2007. After that short but amazing tour,  we met Eugene’s friends Efi and Persa who were truly nice people and headed to a lovely tavern which is owned by Efi’s uncle. Unsurprisingly great food and music again! Tomorrow, I will hopefully take a ferry to Chios , another Greek island,  that I’m looking forward to see and eventually will arrive İzmir, Çeşme on Wednesday.
